My name is Cam, I am seeking to raise $16,000 for my dad to get his teeth fixed. His name is Sam. He became family 16 years ago and took on the roll of being my dad with courage and deep compassion, though he had no children of his own blood at the time. He became the father my brother and I desperately needed at that time in our youth. He has worked harder than any person I’ve known, as a diesel mechanic, and made countless sacrifices to ensure the family was always fed and had a roof to protect us from the storm. Eventually after many years, Sam and my mom had a child of their own, and it has been a magical thing to see a little Sam roaming the world. Like my brother and I, Sam always put his baby boy first in everything. My brothers and I were raised by a great man who taught us priceless lessons and showed us how to stand tall and go after what we want in life. Sam’s unadulterated love to us children was at the unfortunate expense of his own health, after so much time of prioritizing his children over himself. His teeth are in terrible shape, to an irreversible extent. The rotten roots cause him indescribable pain across his face and has had ripple effects across his body, including dizziness to the point he can hardly walk anymore or stand for too long. He’s expressed deep shame to go out in public and see certain people. The only way I’ll ever see him smile and walk again with confidence, and it’s been years, is if he gets the work done that he needs. After several doctor visits, his best and cheapest option, is to get all his remaining teeth pulled out and a set of dentures made. However, the cost of this is far far far from what our family can afford… $16,000… I am humbly asking that you give what you can to help my dad.
