Sam's Reduction Surgery & Recovery Fund ~

Hi everyone, I’m going to be undergoing breast reduction surgery in a few weeks (April 22nd) to address my dysphoria and chronic back & neck pain. It’s a long time coming and such a relief that my insurance is mostly covering the costs of the surgery itself.

I’m asking for $1500 to cover basic costs post-op. My starting goal is $600 to cover just my rent. That is my minimum budget for utilities, rent, groceries, and medication. I will be completely unable to work for at least two weeks, as my job contains a good amount of physical labor on my part. And this is all assuming there are no complications post-op. Regardless of the possibilities, getting this surgery done is absolutely needed for my happiness and livelihood. Especially as my back pain has worsened to the nerves in my legs, this surgery is as crucial to me as ever. It is no longer just an issue of addressing my gender dysphoria, but is a matter of my day-to-day physical health as well.

Addressing my pain & longstanding dysphoria is all that matters to me right now. I’ve been struggling with severe depression on top of my physical symptoms, and a huge part of it has been being unable to feel comfortable in my own body.

This is a long-awaited opportunity to diminish the pain, discomfort, and insecurity I’ve dealt with unaddressed for nearly 10 years now. I am so happy to be getting this surgery, but the stress of the procedure and financial losses are not to be ignored on behalf of my overall joy & excitement!!
