Sam's Electric Wheelchair fund
Hi there, Sam is 17 years old, he has Cerebral Palsy and is a full time wheelchair user. He has currently had 3 surgeries in the last year to correct his spine (scolliosis). He has had a real rough time with being in and out of hospital and with lock down he has hardly been anywhere since he left school last March! Since his surgery his mobility and posture has changed and is in need of a new wheelchair. Sam has always had manual chairs but this has proven to difficult for Sam now, and to gain independence he has been trialling an electric chair but of course it is not his to keep. He has got on so well with it and we can see a huge difference in him being able to be more independent. Unfortunately these chairs are not cheap, so we are fundraising to get as much help as we can for him to be more independent and getting a chair that can do this. Chairs like these cost between £5,000-£6,000 and also extras such as seating that will help his posture and not having more trouble with curves in his spine in the future. Thank you so much for taking the time to read our little story and for your support in our journey for Sam's independence.
