Sampson's spleenectomy

This is about a wonderful dog named Sampson. Sampson is a rescue from Oregon. He is 8 years old and has many friends between Oregon and California. He is a long-haired American Staffordshire Terrier. Recently Sampson collapsed during a walk and we discovered he had some critical medical issues. He had a large mass attached to his spleen which had ruptured and he had to have his spleen removed asap in order to save his life. We are incredibly grateful for the team at Four Paws Animal Clinic in Nevada City, CA and the team at Insight Veterinary Wellness Center in El Dorado Hills, CA for their willingness and ability to take swift action in the diagnosis and necessary surgery. Sampson in now home and our family is so happy the procedure seems to be a success and he is healing nicely. A biopsy was taken and we will know within a couple weeks if the mass they removed had cancerous cells which could cause further complications, treatment, and expense. Currently, the veterinary bills are $6000.
