Sampson’s big heart needs your help.

If you know me or Day One you probably know Sampson.

He has spent a good part of his life serving North Carolina alongside me- floods, hurricanes, tornados and Covid.

Today we went to the vet for what we thought was going to be a routine visit and we had to rush to a dog hospital because his heart was in atrial fibrillation.

The treatment for this is expensive and we are a bit daunted by the costs. I’m recovering financially from having to run Day One for free after a horrible experience with our old fiscal sponsor and having my health hurt by contracting anaplasmosis this early summer.

As much as I don’t want to ask for help, I am.

I love this dog in ways that have transformed me.

Sampson deserves a fighting chance.

Day One Relief would have never existed without him. He was my emotional rock throughout the past five years of learning how to be a good ethical org.

I know most of the people reading this love him and have been touched by him in some way.

Right now he is in cardiac icu getting more tests.
