Sample Fire Relief

On March 14, 2021, Bill and Marianne Sample went to bed as they normally do.  Around 11:45pm Bill got up when he heard the smoke detectors wake him.  He smelled smoke and left the bedroom to find his home filled with smoke from the fire.  He walked further to find flames in the attic area.  Bill quickly came back for Marianne, a shirt and jacket to leave quickly.  It was so fast they didn't get shoes and  the ground was frozen in Hamlet, Indiana.  It was too late to go back inside to get shoes because the house was blazing.  Sadly, they lost their cat named Sunshine to the fire.  The fire department and police arrived quickly but the house and everything inside is a total loss.  

They are currently living temporarily in a hotel and have reached out to the Red Cross for additional help until the insurance company can get started with their claim.  

My name is Chrystie McIlwain and a dear friend of their beloved daughter.  I wanted to help assist them because my mother lost her home to a fire and although insurance did help them replace everything it took time and her savings was exhausted in the process of waiting.  No amount of money can replace their memories of their home but ANY amount you can help relieve the stress added from such a tragic event and allow them the opportunity to begin the journey of a new beginning.  They are both grateful for each other and their lives that were spared and we all pray that your gift comes with peace of giving from a generous heart.   Love to all mankind!
