Samone and Evangelanah Marshall

Hi. My name is Elizabeth and I had the privilege of meeting Samone in 2011 at the Ronald McDonald House in Albany. She was pregnant with her daughter and considered high risk, meaning she had to be close to the hospital. Samone lived 2 hours from Albany Medical Center at the time, therefore, her only option was to move into the Ronald McDonald House in December 2011 while she waited to give birth. During this time, Samone was there to support me in Chase's fight and became a close friend to all those in this house. Evangelanah Marshall was born on February 20, 2012. The battle had just begun!

Evangelanah was born with Hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS). This is a birth defect that affects normal blood flow through the heart. Being diagnosed with this congenital heart defect has come with many uphill battles since infancy. Her first open heart surgery was on February 27...when she was just 7 days old! Since then, she has had 3 more open heart surgeries, 12 heart cathaters, 5 G-tube placements, Norwood hemifontan fontan 1.5 ventricle. Despite all this, Evangelanah has climbed up every hill, fought all the odds and has grown into a beautiful 11 year old little girl.
Evangeleanah took a turn in November she was in and out of Albany med every week, and then sent to Boston, but due to insurance issues, Boston no longer accepted her insurance. Boston then called in a favor to Morgan Stanley Presbyterian NYC and asked if they could help. She was the 15th person world wide to receive a bi-ventricle surgery. Samone was told that there was no time to wait for a heart transplant. With this surgery she did well for 4 weeks, then took a turn for the worse. She is in the fight of her life right now!!! She needs our help, and so does Samone. Evangeleanah kidneys are failing and her heart is unable to beat on its own. Today, doctors attempted to place a device that would prolong Evangeleanah's quality of life until a heart transplant is done, however, this device placement failed. The surgery was not successful. She coded in the OR She had a lack of blood flow to the brain and doctors are now checking her brain activity. She's now on ECMO and continues to have blood clots in her heart, that can blow at any time, causing an embolism.

To ALL my Chase warriors and compassionate people... WE NEED YOUR HELP!!! Samone has been out of work since June for the simple fact that she is FIGHTING (and I mean FIGHTING) for her daughter's life. She is a single mother, with 2 other children that she cannot be with her right now. She is living 3 hours from her home with no support in NYC, but the doctors and nurses that are trying to save Evangeleanah's life. As you might imagine, Samone needs love, but needs help financially. ANYTHING you can give would help. Any prayers you can send... WILL HELP! I am asking all my friends to share this GOFUNDME page with everyone more than once. Please give, share, and pray!!!

On behalf of Samone, her family and friends, thank you for everything you can do!
