Sammy has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy an incurable progressive muscle wasting condition and tragically lost his mobility in 2018. Just to give you an insight of what Sammy is facing at the moment and why we need your help!  His current NHS Power chair is now too narrow for him as he has grown out of it. We will have to wait quite a few months to get a new regular Power chair due to it being imported from Europe. He is due to have tendon release surgery on the 23rd June 2021 and will be in plaster casts on both legs, for up to three  months. The fact his power chair is too small will be tricky due to his need to feel comfortable in his sitting position. After all it's his way of getting around  independently (his legs ) hopefully  this will be resolved soon! but the main thing  that we really  need to raise  money  for on this  site  is to enable  him to have access to other places, off road this would mean that Sammy would  be able to access the wonderful green open spaces, parks and enjoy places with family. This is not possible at present as his pavement chair makes it hard to go off road or even over some kerbs.
