Father of young son, with rapidly growing Brain Tumor in urgent need of surgery.
Our dear friend Sam has been diagnosed for a second time with a pituitary tumor. He underwent surgery 3 years ago for the same type of growth, and while the operation was successful, Sam’s vision was permanently and significantly impaired.
Sam’s tumor has returned in aggressive fashion. It is now slightly larger than the original, creating pressure on his optic nerve, resulting in chronic debilitating headaches and constant double vision.
As you can imagine, it has become impossible for Sam to drive, read, check emails and effectively earn a living for himself and his young son Taylor.
Sam is very proud, independent and as he did for his first bout with the brain tumor, has tried to manage this crisis quietly on his own.
Unfortunately, that same struggle, left his savings all depleted and affected his ability to earn the same living he was once able to enjoy. Now with the rapidly growing tumor which is threatening to take the remainder of his vision, if not more, options are minimal. It’s more than Sam can handle on his own, and this time around he humbly welcomes the help of family, friends, neighbors, and kind strangers willing to lend him a hand.
It has been difficult to set a dollar amount for this funding effort as we are still urgently seeking other medical opinions and more quotes. The initial quote for surgery and hospital stay is 45,000.00, and while we are hopeful to find less costly options, understand that Sam will eventually require follow up radiosurgery.
This fund will be used for Sam's medical expenses, as well as aid in living expenses for Sam and his son.
