Sammy needs cancer removing Surgery

My dog has saved my life, now it’s time for me to do everything in my power to do the same for him.

8 year old Sammy came into my life at a time when I needed him most. Shortly after the death of my best friend from pancreatic cancer, this little fella came into my world and gave me purpose to go on. He has been my rock for over 6 years, always there for me through thick and thin. My constant companion, Sammy has never met a person he didn’t love. He became the most popular employee at the small brewery we managed together, and has been adored by all. He’s been by my side through cross-country moves, deaths of loved ones, and all the turbulence in between.

At a routine vet appointment earlier this month, the vet noticed enlargement of Sammy’s anal gland, and tests revealed cancerous tumors in both glands. Fortunately, the anal glands can be surgically removed, but it’s an expensive procedure. The brewery we worked at together went out of business, and I was in a massive car accident, crushing my hip, and making it impossible for me to work while waiting for/ recovering from a series of extremely difficult surgeries.

Sammy’s procedure is scheduled at Faithful Friends animal hospital, which is the perfect name because he has been the most faithful friend I’ve ever had. Time is of the essence because we want to get the cancerous glands out before it spreads to other parts of his body.

Im a proud person (often to a fault), and I’d happily go without something rather than asking for a handout, but this is a situation where I must put my ego to the side and call on the goodness of others. Even after selling as much of my personal belongings that had any market value- electronics, collectibles, clothing- I am still significantly short on the $2000+ surgery (plus the nearly 1000$ of testing that has needed to be done in the last 2 weeks). Anything that can be donated will go directly towards this procedure. If you have the means and the inclination, please help me help Sammy, or at very least, consider passing this along to other animal lovers.
