Sam Morgan Shark attack victim fund
Donation protected
We are a small group of SAM MORGAN's friends, who have gotten together to help him through thismost difficult time. Sam is a 20 year old young Austarlian surfer that was attacked on Nov 10th 2015 at Lighthouse Beach, Ballina, NSW. Australia.
Sam remains in hospital recovering from life saving operations to his upper left leg, and is extremely lucky to be a survivor. He is so grateful for all the well wishes of support that he has recieved over the past few day's, and has been blown away with how far and wide this his story has reached.
The love of surfing and the ocean started very young for Sam. At the age of 3 his family took off on an adventure travelling around Australia in a van for an entire year. The journey took them around the beautiful coastline visiting all the famous beaches, and jumping in the ocean every chance they got. Sam's father Pete has passed on his love and passion for surfing and all that the life style brings "it's all about the waves as they say".
Being a well accomplished local surfer and a much loved and respected young man, this has hit our community extremly hard.
Sam is the11th victim on this particular beach, along with many other attacks on near by east coast beaches, its raised the question of how we can protect our family members and what is happening in our waters.
The surfing community from Ballina to Byron have been feeling extremley uneasy for quite some time now and at times the banks are empty without a soul surfing, even when its considered pumping.
What we would like to raise funds for is to help Sam through this difficult period and the obstacles that lay ahead for him during his long road of recovery.
Sam would also like to pay tribute to the amazing paramedics, doctors and nurses who together have saved his life. It was the very smart actioning profesionals that made vital decisions even before he was airlifted, these life saving blood supplies were a crutial part of his survival . Sam would love to also donate some of these funds to the amazing services of the Westpac Helicopters that save so many people every year.
Surfing is a way of life up here, some may say its a religion. Our community is bonded by the love of the ocean and beaches, and it is vital that our beaches become safe agian.
So we ask you to please donate for this cause, and we his team of dedicated soldiers will be volenteering our time and efforts over the coming years to make this all happen. We nearly lost our Son, our Brother, our Grandson, our Boyfriend, our best mate. ....
We are currently working on some awesome fundraising community spirited events for the coming months, yet if you would like to help now, this will enable us to get this all up and going alot faster.
