Sami is in the fight of his life.

What began as a small cut on his leg has spiraled into a devastating medical crisis. A few months ago, Sami sustained a wound while performing at a gig. He treated it as best he could, but signs of infection soon followed. After seeking medical care, he was prescribed a series of antibiotics—culminating in Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole-trimethoprim).

Just days after starting this medication, Sami began suffering from drug induced liver injury (DILI).

Since then, he has been in and out of the hospital, battling for survival. We now know this medication—often overprescribed—was not necessary for his condition and triggered a life-threatening response. His situation remains critical. One wrong turn could be fatal.

At the same time, Sami is enduring the emotional and financial stress of an unexpected divorce. Not covered by insurance, he is navigating this medical crisis without the support he urgently needs.

Sami’s liver is showing early signs of improvement, giving us hope that with proper care, rest, and support, he can recover without needing a transplant. But the road ahead is long.

He will need:
