UPDATE 2/27: Susan (Sami's Mom) posted this today. She is so very thankful for the support she and Sami received. "It is with the heaviest of hearts and the saddest of days for us. When the surgeon opened up Sami's leg her knee was bone to bone and was sure the other knee would have been the same. There was nothing they could really do for her and even another surgery she would have always been in pain. So after much soul-searching and discussion I had to let her go. Lynn and Richard came to the vet's office with me and she was surrounded by people she loved and who loved her. It was the only humane decision left. She peacefully went over the Rainbow Bridge. Thank yoiu all for your support, contributions and prayers. She is out of pain now and leave a huge hole in my heart. I have never lost a dog this young - she was the most beautiful, sweetest girl ever. RIP SAMI." <3
Hey! This is Gunner and I'm one of Sami's best dog park buddies. A while ago Sami fell and hurt her knees and stopped visiting me and her other buddies at the park. This made all of us very sad. Ever since Sami fell she hasn't been able to stand or walk and is in a lot of pain.
Sami had x-rays and Dr. Dawn confirmed that Sami needs immediate surgery to fix her knees. The orthopedic surgeon reccomended that both get operated on at the same time and the cost of the surgery is $6000. Sami needs surgery ASAP otherwise her health will start to deteriate since she can't stand or walk.
Can you please help my buddy out? We really miss running and playing with her at the dog park. She one cool girl and we are sad she isn't feeling like herself. Sami's mom is super worried about her too and we know she would be so happy to see Sami chase us around the park stealing our toys like the old days.
Sami's friends have also set up a fund at Lone Rock if you would prefer to contribute directly.
