Being a parent, I know that we will do anything for our children. When I learned about a friend's child born with Edward's syndrome, there are no words to explain how much I sympathize with them. I would like to raise money to help them in any way. I know there are a lot of people with good heart who would like to help as well. Here is their family's plea for help: "We are a humble family from the Philippines trying our luck here in the Middle East. My name is Anthony Jasper Sales together with my wife Analiza and my eldest son Ran, are humbly asking for help in this trying times of our lives.
In October of 2014 we are gifted with a beautiful baby daughter named Samirah Allegra or Riley as we call her. She was all we prayed and wanted for except for one thing; She was born with Edward’s Syndrome or Trisomy 18 which what the doctors say means in common terms “incompatible with life”. Right after she was diagnosed the doctors told us that she only has days to live and we should make the most of it. As parents we were shocked and devastated. But we took a stand and told ourselves that we will fight for and with her and do everything that we can for her recovery mainly because we believe that miracles do happen and that God has a better plan for her and us than giving up on her.
And so it started, the seemingly unending rough patch of life that we chose. Before Riley was born, the country we migrated to (for security reasons, we are not going to mention the country here) was becoming a little uneasy with their economy and I was unemployed for 8 months and Riley was in the Neo-natal I.C.U. for almost 8 months. We blindly took loans in the bank, asked for help from charities, friends and families and everyone and everything that we could think of. Unfortunately it is not enough. Besides having trouble with the banks because I do not have the capacity to pay them up anymore Riley was in and out of the N.I.C.U up to March of this year and has accumulated an insurmountable amount of almost 164,000 U.S. Dollars if my math skills serves me right. And because of this and the bank loans none of us can leave the country as well as Riley not having to have a legal name because the hospital that she was born in will not release any documents until I pay up the remaining balance of her hospital bills.
We are not asking for all of our debts be paid but in all honestly, all we are asking is a little help from you. My wife lost her job as well for almost about a year now and I am the only breadwinner in my family right now. I don’t think she can apply for a new job mainly because we cannot afford a proper nurse or caregiver to take care of Riley while we both are working. Riley needs constant oxygen as well due to the fact that she has multiple holes in her heart(VSD, ASD) and is adding up to the bills. Her milk is special and can only be bought inside the hospital and with all these, the reason we are humbly asking for any help that you can give.
I know God has a reason for this. And I know God has a better plan for my family. We are reaching out to your heart of hearts and as you decide to help our struggling family, may God bless you more than you deserve and grant all the desires of your heart. Thank you and God bless us everyone."
