Help Samijo and Her Family Through a Health Crisis
Hi everyone,
My name is Samijo Collins. I’m 37 years old, a wife, a mother of four beautiful children, and someone who’s been fighting a deeply painful medical journey.
Over the past year, I’ve been in and out of both Woden and Calvary hospitals, facing misdiagnosis, mistreatment, and a system that made me feel ignored, disrespected, and humiliated. For a long time, I was told that I had an infection. But I could feel there was more to it, and after months of being dismissed and not being heard, I was forced to call Ryan’s rule. Only then did the hospital start taking my concerns seriously and only then did I find out I have a leaky right heart valve.
Now I’m facing the heartbreaking reality that my heart condition is worsening. It's started to affect my liver and lungs severely, making any surgery extremely high-risk. Every day is a battle, not just physically but emotionally.
No 37-year-old should have to prepare for death because the system failed them.
I have four children - my eldest is 22 (my sister, whom I’ve raised since she was 10), and my youngest is just 11. I’m terrified to leave them behind. I’ve felt firsthand the ache and pain that losing a parent causes, and I want to fight for every moment I have left with my babies. I still have so much love to give, so much life I want to live for them.
My husband, Michael, has been by my side throughout hospital stays, panic attacks, and doctor visits. His support means the world to me, but it comes at a cost. We're struggling to keep up with bills, groceries, medical costs, and, even beginning to think about the lingering funeral expenses should the worst happen.
We’ve never been ones to ask for help, but right now, we’re struggling. And it’s breaking me as a mother to see my family under this much pressure, especially because of my health.
This GoFundMe has been created to support my family during this incredibly difficult time. Any support you can give whether it’s a donation, a share, or a kind word means more to us than I can say.
Thank you and with love,
Samijo Collins (Mrs. Collins)
