TRAGIC HIT AND RUN 20 YEAR YOUNG STUDENT.
My name is Zaheer Malik, (brother of Samia) and I’m writing this with a shattered heart.
My little sister, Samia Malik, only 20 years old, was killed in a horrific hit-and-run in Adelaide. She was walking — just walking — when a driver hit her and drove away, leaving her on the road. CPR couldn’t save her. She died alone in a foreign country, far from her family, far from home.
She came to Australia with dreams, with courage. She was an international student, studying hard, paying her own way through university. No work cover. No insurance. Nothing to protect her, no help in death, just like there was no one to help her in her final moments.
Now we are left with the unbearable pain of saying goodbye to her here in Adelaide. We want to lay her to rest in a place where she can be remembered, surrounded by friends and loved ones. But the cost of the funeral arrangements is more than we can manage. Every moment without her feels like the world has stopped. Our family is in pieces. There are no words for this kind of grief.
We are asking for your help. Every dollar will go toward covering the funeral costs and honoring her memory. Please, help us find peace in our hearts and say goodbye to her the way she deserves.
She was only 20. She had her whole life ahead of her.
Please help us in this noble cause.
