Hello,

With a heavy heart, we are devastated to announce that our Vancouver Hostel was subjected to a devastating fire in the early hours of Saturday morning of September 16th. A great deal of damage has been done to the building, and it has become uninhabitable. Most importantly, all 223 guests and staff members were evacuated safely and unharmed thanks to the amazing help of the staff members and the fire safety crew.

Our first priority is to relocate guests to safe accommodations and find a home for the many staff members who lived in the building. Further to the fire, many staff members have lost their personal belongings, some being sentimental and irreplaceable.

All funds that we receive from this Go Fund Me will be used to support our staff to help them during these difficult times. We would greatly appreciate any donations you can afford.

Samesun Vancouver has been a staple on Granville Street, welcoming backpackers through our doors for 20 years. We have connected travellers, creating unforgettable memories and experiences. This is a tragic loss for us all.
