On September 17th at around 2pm, a tragic accident took place in St.Louis, Missouri. Sameena Shaik, 17 years old, was on her way back home for the weekend from SIUE when she was involved in a serious car accident on I-270 involving a driver who was under the influence. The driver was driving in the opposite direction in a ford f150 and drove straight into Sameena’s driver side door, resulting in a 4 car accident. She was rushed to BJC healthcare and was admitted into the intensive care unit with a major skull fracture, and she is currently conscious, but she stayed unconscious for quite some time . We aren’t sure about the full extent of the damage yet because she hasn’t had an MRI yet, but we are certain that she’s on a long road to recovery.
Both of her parents, Mehar and Sultan, received an unexpected call conversation that no parents should ever endure. It was a call from the police officer informing them of the accident and advising them to get to the hospital quickly. As soon as they arrived at the hospital, they were hit with the heart wrenching news of the extent of Sameena injuries. Sameena will potentially be in the hospital for 1 to 2 months and she's expected to be in recovery for close to a year if everything goes as planned. Her brother goes to college in KC and as soon as he was informed of the saddening news, he dropped everything and drove across the state to the hospital.
This fund was set up in the hopes of helping this beautiful family with the financial burden this tragic event poses. Allowing Mehar, Sultan, and her brother to be by her bedside during this tragic time. The family had expressed great gratitude from the countless phone calls and messages showing support, and they highly appreciate the loving prayers sent towards the family, especially Sameena, during this hard time.
