(Sam pictured with his older brother, Jack, and the famous and his favorite Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders last December)Sam Darrington (18), son of Fred & Emy Darrington, passed away on April 2, 2016 due to complications from Metachromatic leukoystrophy (MLD). Sam was a true champion in so many ways and will be greatly be missed by all those who knew him.
For those who know Fred & Emy, you are familar with their story. Fred & Emy are parents to 6 children of which 5 children were born with MLD which has no cure or treatment and life expectancy of 5-15 years. Sam's 4 siblings who also had MLD have previously passed away. Very few people can understand what Fred & Emy and their family have experienced over the last 20+ years when their lives were tragically introduced to MLD.
Sam's funeral will be Wednesday, April 6 in Declo, ID. While the emotional and mental stress a family endures when seeing a loved one pass away is immense, so is the financial stress especially when a family has already covered funeral expenses for 4 other family members over the last 15 years plus a significant amount of medical-related expenses and lost income.
Fred has been a close friend to me since we were 5 -- we attended kndergarten through 12th grade plus 1 year of college together. I've known Emy since they married and they are truly some of the best people in this world.
If you are in a position to help offset some of the funeral expenses, please join me in this effort and make a contribution. All proceeds will go directly to Fred & Emy. Thank you.
