A Step Towards My Future

Greetings Family, Friends, and Kind Strangers,
My name is Samata. I am a Kindergarten/ First Grade teacher at a progressive private school. Part of my job, which happens to be my passion, is to not only educate children in the traditional sense but to also bring mindfulness into their own interior/exterior world as they relate to their environment, community and family.
On a typical day, 16 children, their parents and my school put their faith in me as a teacher and a guide. A burning question I have is how can I make more of a difference? How can I grow beyond what I have learned and have been taught to better serve and support children growing up in an ever changing world that is moving faster than before?
Recently, I attended a training called the Gratitude Training that had a profound affect on me. It helped me stretch beyond my own limitations and see the places needed for growth, professionally and personally. One area that I have struggled with in my life is asking for help. I am use to being in the role of the caretaker and giver. And, right now, I am at a place of needing help instead of giving it. This is hard to admit, much less write.
I am not someone that takes the value of time or financial resources lightly. This training spoke to me in a way that no other opportunity I have come across has. I need to raise 3500 dollars to be able to complete level 2 and 3. This will pay for the training and the resources I need to attend. I have just completed part 2 and will be heading back to the Charlotte area July 10 to begin part 3. I will be finished with the training by the end of October.
Through the training, I am gaining the knowledge and practical tools to help me manifest my dreams into reality as well support my community to grow. After just completing part 2 on Sunday, I am standing strong in my commitment to creating a world where there is peace, love, and joy. With my whole being I know that this training is going to support me in every area of life from teaching, working with children, my family, Kirtan, to the way I interact with myself and my community.
I love my life, I love my job, and I know I am already fortunate to be able to say that. I am grateful for this opportunity and I am humbled and in gratitude for any help I receive.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and being a witness to my journey in whatever form you feel called to participate.
Warmly,
Samata
