Help to Provide Free Education to Our Children

Support children in Tanzania for a better education

Samaritan Volunteers is Non Government Organization that supports providing free education for underprivileged children in Chamazi Village. We run a school that helps a maximum of 100 children from low-income families who are coming to study in our school every day from Monday to Friday throughout the year. We are located in the South of the city of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in East Africa.

Chamazi Village has a population of 150, 000 inhabitants where children and teenagers represent more than 50%. We only have two public schools which support more than 10000 children each. that is not enough, there are many children in the street who don't go to school and they lose the opportunity to get an education. The reason why they don't go to school are poor parent control, lack of school materials and uniforms, low income from families, lack of early education, and birth certificate ( children are not allowed to be registered at public schools if they do not have a birth certificate ), lack of meals at Public schools, Poor quality of education provided in our public schools due to different challenges like the high population of children in these schools ( One class have 250 children with the ration of 1 teacher ) lack of enough desks and chairs so children have to sit and write on the floor and many other challenges which hinder the education for children in our community

Samaritan Education Centre is an alternative to provide and motivate education for the children who don't go to school and those who are willing to go to school but face the above difficulties. We provide free education from Kindergarten level to Primary School level. Since we started this project we were able to help more than 500 children to have access of getting free education with everything included like school materials, meals for kids and uniforms. More than 180 children completed Kindergarten level of education and were able to join different Primary Schools

All these efforts were done with the help of local and international volunteers who regularly visit our project throughout the year. Currently, the organization does not have any sustainable funds to manage this project throughout the year and we depend on volunteers' Contributions and donations from this Gofundme link to operate our project.
