Samara died tragically on June 1st 2026, on their 30th birthday.
Their parents were by their side, after Samara's organs had been donated to save other lives going forward, in death as they did in life using everything they had in the aid of community.
Samara was a vital and fierce member of the broader European DIY punk community, releasing well over 50 musical works in their too-short life; from early beginning in Folkestone, UK as part of Emmet Kelley, SORG and as Alocasia Garden amongst others, and on to their life in Leipzig, Germany with such outstanding works with Goblin Soap and under the Samara moniker
I hope to help contribute to the draining costs of this tragedy for their family. Flights and accommodation back and forth for their parents Lisa, Kev, Greg and Lucy, as well as funeral costs and the ongoing costs of administration and moving all of Samara's property. It's not often we have the funds at our disposal for such an event and no family should be left in debt after such a tragedy.
Samara's connection with art and music across Europe and beyond has been clear this last week, and it's important this community come together in a real and tangible way to help their family at this time.
Whether you knew and were connected with Reece previously, or more recently, Samara, you will know that they were a furious activist for the vulnerable and would be doing this for their friends if it were the other way around - this pays respect to that sense of community that underpinned our friend's beautiful nature.
