Summer Internship in Japan
Donation protected
Hello my name is Samantha.
I earned an amazing opportunity to intern in Japan at Meysen Academy, Premier School. (http://www.meysen.ac.jp/)
I am writing to request your support for my teaching internship in Japan. I will be a teacher’s assistant working with four and Five year olds in an English immersions class room. The volunteer internship will be three months long.
In order to make this experience possible, I need your help. This is an unpaid, full-time, service-based internship. I am responsible for covering all travelexpenses, such as travel insurance, international airfare, and all ground transportation, and the costs associated living abroad for three months. So far I have raised $850 through a combination of donations, my garage sale fundraiser, and My Gofundme campaign, and yet I must raise $2,650 more! Can you help? Gifts of any amount will make a big difference, and I will be forever grateful to you for supporting. This is an experience of a lifetime.
Here’s how you can help:
· Send a donation by mail to
5511 NE 54th Street, Vancouver, WA 98661
· Share my story on your Facebook by going to my fundraising website (gofundme.com/SamanthaW). You can also donate though this website.
· Come to my charity bootcamp June 15th at 5:30PM
1011 Broadway St, Vancouver, WA 98660
Who you are supporting:
Right now I am an engineering student at Clark College. As of June 2015, I will have successfully completed half of my requirements for my Associates in Science Transfer Degree. After I have received my associate degree my goal is to attend the University of Washington College of Engineering where I will receive my bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. I would like to use my degree to work internationally.
I am currently the President of the Outdoor & Recreation Club at Clark College. I plan and host community events for students and lead weekly events like day hikes, weekend camping trips, surfing, snowboarding, beach volleyball, and BBQ's. I connect students with volunteer opportunities on and off campus. Through Clark’s Workstudy program I work part-time for Intramural Sports Program on campus, working with a great team to set up and manage open play campus sports, like basketball, outdoor soccer, and volleyball.
I am so thankful for these opportunities that Clark has set in front of me. An internship in Japan would give me the opportunity to gain experience working aboard, challenge me to adapt and become a part of a new culture.
Thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
Samantha
