My precious God-Daughter Sammy, was born with HLHS (Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome) The left side of her heart didn't develop properly. She spent the first 6 months of her life at Texas Children's and at just 3 days old she had her first open heart surgery. She had her second at 3 months old and was suppose to have her third and final surgery this year. On March 4th, she was rushed to the emergency room. What her parents thought to be an ear infection turned out to be a more devastating prognosis, her heart wasn't receiving enough oxygen. Doctors informed her parents that her heart was too damaged and would need a new one. 

It's truly an overwhelming request to wish for a heart, but with God's grace she received hers on April 8th and had her heart transplant surgery on April 9th. Her recovery process was difficult at times, as anyone can imagine any surgery is painful and a 3 year old isn't really aware of what's going on. All she knew is that she was sick and the doctors would help her get better. 

Sammy is finally recovering at home. Which was an overwhelming process for Dad, with her immune system being weak. Dad spent the last couple of weeks tearing out the old carpet, installing an A/C purifing system and deep cleaning the house. 

Sammy is a very happy little girl, full of life and has a smile that will brighten up a room. She's fierce and strong despite having tough days, she keeps on fighting to live. She's taught us to appreciate every moment of everday. She's a blessing and we have faith she'll live a full life. 

We're asking for donations to help with all unforseen expenses the family has had to endure. Their life was literally impacted overnight, her mom had to quit her job to spend her days with Samantha and they're all currently on one income.   Any donation is greatly appreciated.
