Hi! My name is Samantha and this fundraiser is to help me reach my gender-affirming care goals.

I started pursuing my gender transition in my mid-30s after struggling with my gender identity for my entire life. It’s been hard but my life has changed in really beautiful ways.

A medical gender transition can cost 10s of thousands of dollars and very little of it is ever covered by health insurance. For the past few years, I have had 2 to 3 jobs at a time and I’ve worked 55-60 hours a week to save money for my transition. But I’ve come to accept that I won’t be able to fully pay for my transition this way. It’s unsustainable and I’m becoming very burnt out. So I’m asking for help.

I understand that access to adequate healthcare is a struggle for many people, and I’m truly grateful that you’re even taking the time to consider helping me. Making progress on my gender transition has been a long-term project, and I plan to keep working to put money away. But any help that people can offer is greatly appreciated.
