Monday, August 10, 2020 a storm with straight line winds of nearly 100 miles per hour, hit Iowa. The storms destroyed many, things. You know things. The things we had to have, the things that now we cannot really remember.
At about noon this storm brought down a tree, two and a half feet across. That tree fell upon a home. Within that home stood a woman. A woman of outstanding courage, honesty, and strength.
A firefighter, a paramedic, a tireless employee, an incredibly, incredibly intelligent woman! Most of all, a mother of five children. They, were her proudest victories in life. Her husband was Samantha’s best friend and she, his.
Samantha Jane Wierson’s injures were overwhelming. On Tuesday, August 11, we were told that a second test for brain death would be done and that decisions would have to be made. Typical of Samantha Jane, she made the decision for us.
She left us with an incredible example of a life to mirror. Her grit truly the stuff of legend!
