Hi, my name is Samantha (Sam) Hatcher. In September 2022, after family, friends, and coworkers talked me into going to the doctor to have a lump in my neck looked at, I was diagnosed with throat and neck cancer, which has spread to my lymph nodes. I'm scheduled for surgery on December 15th to remove as much cancer as possible and insert a port for chemotherapy and prep for radiation. I have no insurance because I work two part-time jobs. The hospital wants a chunk of their money upfront because I have no insurance. I am exploring all alternatives to find funding and coverage, but have run out of time because this all happened so fast! I either have to come up with the money or cancel the surgery.
