Samantha Needs Our Help

Her Story:

Over the past couple of years, Samantha’s health has declined dramatically — and the last six months have been especially devastating. She’s battling gastroparesis, a severe condition that has made it nearly impossible for her to eat. She lives with constant nausea and vomiting, leaving her exhausted, malnourished, and suffering from muscle atrophy. The toll is visible in her bloodwork, her appearance, and her organs.

She now receives IV infusions twice a week — treatments not covered by insurance — and has been hospitalized multiple times each month. Most recently, she had a feeding tube placed at Mayo Clinic, her sixth time there since January. Unfortunately, she’s currently back in the hospital, now facing serious complications from the feeding tube and formula. This feeding tube is our last hope to help stabilize her condition.

The road ahead includes more visits to Mayo Clinic, a potential second feeding tube once this one expires, possible surgery, and continued mounting medical bills.

On top of everything, Samantha also suffers from lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease that causes widespread inflammation, debilitating fatigue, and joint pain. Some days, she struggles just to get out of bed.

Samantha has devoted her life to helping others as a nurse. But now, she’s unable to work and is on disability. The burden of emergency visits, specialists, medications, and daily care has created overwhelming financial strain. As a family, we are doing all we can to support her physically, emotionally, and financially — but we can’t do it alone.
