Hi, my name is Samantha, and I’m writing this with a heavy heart.
On June 10th, my mother, Leilani Dixon, passed away after a hard-fought battle with cancer. She was 53 years old. While our relationship wasn’t always easy — and she wasn’t always present when we were growing up — she found her way back to us later in life, and for that, I’m grateful.
As her eldest daughter, I’ve been doing my best to process not only her passing but everything that came before it. Reconnecting with her as an adult brought its own challenges, but it also gave us a chance to understand each other more deeply. In the end, she was still our mom, and losing her has left a space we’re still trying to figure out how to fill.
She didn’t have life insurance, and her passing came much quicker than expected. We’re now facing the costs of funeral and burial arrangements, which are simply more than we can manage on our own. I want to honor her life and give her a proper farewell — something that acknowledges both the pain and the healing we’ve gone through as a family.
If you’re able to help, whether financially or by sharing this fundraiser, it would mean the world to us. Every dollar will go directly to her funeral expenses and helping us give her the respectful goodbye she deserves.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Your support, in any form, is deeply appreciated.
With love,
Samantha Dixon
