Samantha's Story
While visiting a friend far from home in Bryan, Texas, Samantha begin experiencing severe stomach pain and vomiting. On August 4, 2020, she was admitted to St. Joseph Regional Hospital where doctors believed she was suffering from a ruptured appendix. However, during surgery doctors were perplexed when they uncovered a rather healthy appendix, and after a couple of days in the ICU, Samantha was diagnosed with a very rare infection which was causing her body to make too much blood, filling her body with an overabundance of fluid and causing severe bloating and dehydration.
Shortly after, Samantha was moved to the Critical Care Unit, so that she could be more closely monitored. Over the past several weeks Samantha has been through many rounds of dialysis and using a ventilator to assist with her breathing.
Samantha is strong, and she continues to make progress. We praise God that as of August 21, she is now breathing on her own without the ventilator. But recovery takes time.
Since August 5, Tracy and Jennie have been in Texas with Samantha caring for her and walking alongside her on this road to recovery. We would like to show our love and support by raising funds to help the family pay for the medical expenses as they go through this challenging time. Every dollar will help!
We thank all of Samantha's loved ones for the support and your continued prayers!
