Hi, my daughter, Samantha Gonzalez, is battling breast cancer. In August 2025, Sam was diagnosed with breast cancer, more specifically, stage 2 grade 3 triple negative invasive ductal carcinoma. Sam is an awesome mom to 2 little girls, aged 5 and 7, and a devoted wife. She has many titles: mom, wife, friend, daughter, sister, niece, granddaughter, and godmother. One of her passions is to decorate. When you visit her, you will always see her house decorated for the current season and/or holiday, which includes Shark Week in July lol. She is very creative with preparing food and drinks to match the season/holiday. Sam is also very crafty when it comes to making gifts for those she cares about.
Sam has been battling kidney disease since 2020 and was just diagnosed with lupus in January 2025. And now, Sam was diagnosed with breast cancer on August 29th. She was devastated to get the diagnosis as it is yet another health battle she needs to fight. Sam had her first chemotherapy treatment on September 8th. Already, the side effects from the chemotherapy are taking a physical and emotional toll. Sam is strong and is fighting with incredible strength.
Despite having health insurance, the out-of-pocket expenses are starting to add up. Sam's husband, Steve, is the only source of income and there will be appointments and/or procedures where Sam will need his support and his presence. This will mean Steve is losing income. The funds raised will go directly toward covering a wide range of costs, including:
- Medical and surgical costs insurance may not cover
- Medications and prescription costs insurance may not cover
- Living expenses due to some loss of income
- Various incidentals that will ease some of the pain and discomfort of the chemotherapy treatments
- Wigs, headscarves
