Samantha Aquino STEM Scholarship

My name is Samantha Aquino, and I am a middle school student interested in entering a science program that I cannot afford. I've researched this camp and think this would be a good experience for me to explore possible career choices and make new friends who share the same interest as me. Just a short time ago, my science teacher, Mr. Trapp, nominated me to attend a unique learning experience; National Youth Leadership Forum Explore STEM. This program provides hands-on activities and allows students to explore career opportunities while gaining leadership skills and confidence. As middle school students from all over the US Envision their future on a "Mission to Mars," we'll be able to participate in hands-on simulations, workshops, and competitions. Because neurology is something I've been looking into, this experience would help me understand what a surgeon's job consists of. Neither of my parents attended college and sacrificed so much for my siblings and I so that we could have a better life than they did. Because of this, I want to help those in need in some way possible.
