Sam's Eagle Project: Emergency kits for seniors
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Sam Corcoran, and I am a life scout in Troop 1, Piedmont, CA. I am currently working on my Eagle project along with the Piedmont Fire Department, which is to create fire and earthquake safety kits and give them out to senior citizens of Piedmont and Oakland. With California being so prone to wildfires and earthquakes, it is crucial that seniors have the essentials to evacuate if needed. These essentials - such as batteries, a First Aid kit, dust masks, a flashlight, a satellite/hand-crank radio, and important documents - will be provided in each kit. My goal is to create between 30-50 kits. To do so, I need to raise a little over $3000 to purchase the necessary materials and pay for advertising these kits in the local media. Every penny of this fundraising helps my project significantly. Even a small amount of money such as $5 will go a long way with this project. The money that I do not spend will be donated to the Piedmont Fire Department once the project is completed. There is no deadline for when I need the funds, but the sooner I receive them, the earlier the emergency kits can be distributed. Thank you!
