Friends and family,

Over the last few days, my dear nephew Sam Westhoff has faced the challenge of his life and experienced a diagnosis that changes his life forever. Monday evening, Sam was rushed into the hospital with a diagnosis of acute kidney failure, diabetic ketoacidosis, and type 1 diabetes.

He and his wife face a massive hospital bill (no insurance) and very high ongoing medical expenses. We ask for your prayers concerning this mountain as they apply for all the assistance they can receive.

We are reaching out for help because Sam is self-employed, and Abi is legally not allowed to work because she’s still waiting for her green card.

People have asked if there’s an avenue for help, so here it is. Our goal is to raise funds for his unexpected loss of income. (Of course, we’ll be thrilled with more.) Our family and friends have been a huge help and encouragement through this time, and we are eternally grateful.
