Sam Silva medical and family support fundraiser

On May 31st, 17 year old Samuel Silva (Sam) was skateboarding with his friends in Hyannis. He visited his girlfriend Cecilia Orman at work to say goodnight before heading home. He was struck by a motor vehicle at 9:30 p.m. Sam suffered a head fracture and underwent an extensive brain surgery. Fortunately he was minutes away from Cape Cod Hospital and received immediate care. His condition continues to improve but there are many unknowns. His expenses and recovery will be extensive and a financial strain on his loving family. Although there is much optimism and strong faith from his doctors to his friends and family, Sam remains in critical care in the ICU and we ask for prayers and financial support to aid in this process.

Gilmore Silva, and Andreia Silva, Sam’s mom and dad, have been by his side every minute since the accident. There is optimism and hope for a full recovery but the road ahead is long.

Sam is a loving and charismatic soul, and a true friend to so many. He has strong connections to the Hyannis community. Sam works on Main Street, lives and plays in and around town.  Sam loves to skateboard, he is a devoted uncle to his niece Stephanie, a best friend and brother to his sister Sara, and a loving amazing son to his parents. Sam will require continued care once he overcomes this initial battle.

Sam has a close group of best friends, they typically are with each other daily, they are all struggling to make sense of this accident and worried about their friend. Supporting Sam’s family and recovery process which will include rehabilitation, therapy, and financial hardships was one way his friends decided to help. They have come together to laugh, cry and talk of Sam - they initiated this Go Fund me concept and hope you will consider helping.

Sam is a giving person who would do anything for his friends and family. We all look forward to seeing his sweet smile, hearing his humor, and a full recovery.

Any amount would help, please share and re-post. Sam’s parents are so thankful and feel blessed to have so many people supporting them.

Our sincerest gratitude,

Sam’s friends and family
