Sam Polledri Foundation
I will be running the Kew Gardens half marathon on 31st March in memory of one of my best friends Sam Polledri, who's life was cut short when he suffered an unexpected cardiac arrest, passing away on Ferbuary 27th 2022.
I am raising funds to install public access defibrillators in and around the UK to save lives in Sam's honour. The first defibrillator was installed in Bristol, Millennium Square in July 2022, close to where Sam passed away.
The Sam Polledri Foundation aims to install as many public access defibrillators as possible.
Alarming statistics showcase that 12 fit and healthy young individuals between the ages of 14-35 lose their lives each week in the UK due to cardiac arrest, a number that continues to rise. If a defibrillator was used within 3-5 minutes of Sam's cardiac arrest, his chance of survival would have jumped from 6% to 74%
All funds raised through the Sam Polledri Foundation (through GWAAC) will fund public access defibrillators, ensuring that anyone who suffers an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest has someone nearby who knows how to perform CPR and has an AED within a 3-minute walk.
Please be part of the change to help prevent these tragedies from happening. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.
