Meet Samuel – but everyone calls him Sam.

Sam is 13 years old, full of energy, determination, and a smile that can light up a whole room. Like many boys his age, he loves laughing with his friends, spending time with family, and throwing himself head-first into whatever challenge comes his way.

Sam also has ADHD.

For him, that means the world can sometimes feel louder, faster, and harder to manage. School and everyday life haven’t always been easy. Sitting still, focusing, and feeling understood can be a daily battle.

But in 2021, everything changed.

That’s when Sam stepped onto a karate mat for the very first time.

What started as a way to burn off some energy quickly became something much bigger.

Karate gave Sam focus.

It gave him discipline.

It gave him confidence.

Most importantly — it gave him a place where he truly felt he belonged.

From the moment he tied his belt, Sam worked harder than anyone expected. Training session after training session, he showed incredible determination, resilience, and heart. While other kids saw practice as tough, Sam saw it as an opportunity to grow.

And grow he did.

Through countless hours of training, early mornings, sore muscles, and unwavering commitment, Sam has achieved something extraordinary:

He has earned a place on Team GB for Karate.

Now, he’s preparing to represent Great Britain and compete in Germany — a huge international stage and a dream come true for a 13-year-old who simply refused to give up.

This isn’t just a competition.

It’s proof of how far he’s come.

From struggling to focus…

To standing proudly in a national team uniform.

From challenges…

To championships.

We couldn’t be prouder.

But getting to Germany comes with significant costs — travel, accommodation, competition fees, equipment, and training expenses. As a family, we’re doing everything we can, but we need help to make this dream possible.
