Sam Markovich- Struck by Car

We are starting this fund to help us cover medical bills and lost wages from Sam being off of work for more than 6 months. Thanks for reading and helping us out. This is truly a humbling moment.
In September 2019, my husband Sam was hit by a car while riding his bicycle. He suffered 10 broken ribs, a broken wrist and a broken hip. To date, (July 2020) he has endured 3 surgeries to repair his bones and countless hours of physical therapy.
Our entire family has been adversely affected by this tragic accident. My husband of course was the worst, having spent two weeks in the hospital and he has told me that he has a new understanding for the pain level 10. He also has recurring nightmares of the accident. I had found out two weeks prior to the accident that I was pregnant and had a very stressful pregnancy with our daughter while trying to navigate care for my husband and son while he recovered and I still went into work. Our daughter was born 3 weeks early via emergency c-section. Sam was still in a wheelchair on the day she was born in April, recovering from his second hip surgery because the first hip surgery failed to unite his bone. Our son, who was two at the time of the accident, had a very tough time trying to understand why Daddy wasn’t coming home and why we had to leave him in the hospital (so the doctors could help him because he has lots of boo boos). He still has great separation anxiety whenever either one of us leaves the house and is fearful anytime we cross a street. He also really gets anxious whenever anyone needs to go to a doctor’s appointment.
The police officer who responded to the scene and witnesses of the accident place the blame on the driver of the car that hit Sam as being reckless. Unfortunately, our lawyer has advised us that we do not have a case against the driver’s insurance. In Ohio, there is a shared fault law and apparently, it can be proven that Sam shares fault in the accident with the driver due to poor sight lines at the crosswalk he was crossing. We are devastated by this news as our lives have been forever changed since that fateful moment.
