Support Sam Fangatua get back to doing what he loves

Hi, my name is Steve Shapland from the West Harbour Pirates Rugby Club. We are fundraising in support of Sam Fangatua who is one of our own and was injured in a game recently. Sam joined us from Melbourne to further his dream to be a professional rugby player by playing in our U20s team in the Sydney Shute Shield Colts Competition.

Sam took the big step to move out of home, to get out of his comfort zone to be the best player he can be. He has previously been a part of the Melbourne Rebels U19 and is a part of our Pirates Elite Academy. Sam has a very promising future. It was heartbreaking to see him get seriously hurt in our first game after seeing all the effort he has put in to being here. We miss him and his boundless energy immensely while he starts his recovery.

West Harbour is a club that prides itself on having a family environment and for supporting our players on and off the field. Sam needs a surgery to repair his knee so he can get back to playing the game that he loves and we want to do everything we can to help him do that.

We would love for you to support Sam in his journey back to the field. Your donation will be used to pay for the surgery and the recovery after the operation. The recovery can take a year and will include physio, follow up appointments with surgeons and a lot of hard work. Sam and his family will need your support through this time.
