Sam Diggy’s Stolen Equipment Fund
Hi , I am a working creative in music - my craft is audio engineering, producer and creator of beats. I live in the infamous “Town” Oakland, CA by way of Jamaica - seeking a better life. I have spent years building my reputation in the Bay Area artist community working out of a studio I slowly built from the ground up made from a converted shipping container in West Oakland.
I genuinely hate to be writing this but unfortunately, my music studio was broken into this week and all of my music and audio equipment as well as my batteries and generator for my solar panels has been stolen. Needless to say, I am absolutely distraught. The equipment that was taken was my primary means of income and the battery was used to power my studio so without those things I'm at a complete loss. The years I spent gradually building up my equipment piece by piece gone. To see all of that progress wiped away in an instant has been nothing short of devastating.
All my years of creativity gone in a flash. The cops In Oakland told me that they will not do anything to investigate the burglary of my studio unless it is a violent crime. I’ve been back and forth on the best way of addressing this issue and honestly I've been racked with anxiety about how to actually solve this problem. So here I laid bare - I know that asking for financial help when times are so tough for everyone else is a massive ask. I don't want to put anyone under pressure but on the off chance that anyone could contribute anything at all, no matter how small, it would be appreciated beyond belief.
I'm not in a place financially right now to be able to go out and buy the equipment back so in order to fulfill the upcoming sessions and plans I have with my music.
It would mean the absolute world to me if you could support my work and help me recoup the costs of my stolen equipment so I can rebuild my studio. I just want to get back to being able to make music again and help my artist get their music out to the world. Thank you so much.
