Sam Demirchyan

My name is Hovanes Ferikian, and I was one of Sam's many friends. I will be receiving the funds and reimbursing our friends that spent their personal money on the funeral. Some spent money on the plot, coffin, flowers and banquet hall. That total is a little over $6500. The rest of the money, I will give to Sam's father, Karo Demirchyan.

Sarkis Demirchyan, known to his close friends as "Sam," passed away on the night of Sunday, August 14th. Anybody who knew Sam would first tell you what a good heart he had and how fiercely loyal he was to his loved ones. In life, his close friends could always count on Sam to be there for them. Always smiling, Sam had a laugh that was greatly contagious. When Sam laughed, everybody laughed.

We will miss our dear friend.

Sam spent the last months of his life at his mother's bedside at the hospital and home. His mother, Varsenik, had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and Sam, true to his character, was there comforting her day and night. Sadly, Sam's mother passed away on July 29. Her funeral was held on August 9, followed by her son's passing just a few days later. We hope to raise funds in order to help Sam's father with the funeral expenses.
