Sam was in the navy after retiring he became a correction officer for 12 years, on his way to work in 2017 his motorcycle slide out from under him. he was thrown into traffic and a truck ran over his legs breaking them. after many surgeries, he began walking again but could never return back to a correction officer, after 2 years, he got a job driving school buses, he began to have trouble coughing and swallowing, an ENT, took bones from his vocal box, it was negative, he still had trouble, after 2 surgeries, a tumor was discovered on his voice box, we were told in January, it was squamous cell carcinoma.  we immediately  took him to a specialist, at university of Alabama hospital, after removing  a tumor   the size of an orange , they had to remove  his voice box and rebuild his neck, he cant eat  or drink he is being fed by a stomach tube every 3 hours, we go back on the 9th of march, to see when he starts chemotherapy and radiation, the insurance pays for the surgeries. if he ever wants to speak again, he has to have another surgery, the insurance says it is cosmetic and will not pay for it, the expense is hotels, while he has his treatments, it takes 4 hours to UAB, and 6 hours back, he is in pain all the time. please PRAY for him.
