Recently Sam was diagnosed with Burkitt's Lymphoma. It is very fast moving cancer. Sam is being treated at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. They have plans to treat this cancer very aggressively. Chemotherapy will be one of the courses of treat that is used. The funds will be used to get Sam back and forth to Iowa City, help cover the costs of staying there, along with any uncovered medical expenses and living expenses that we have yet to foresee.
With the current COVID restrictions they are allowing only one parent in at a time. Amanda, Sam's mom, will be with him for all of the treatments until the restrictions begin to lift further for both parents to be present.
Sam has a personality that is unrelating and hasn't given up. Far from it. He has plans to do things and wants the details to know what to expect.
