It is with deep sorrow and overwhelming sadness that we announce the passing of Sam Barrett on Friday, 26th September 2025.

Sam has passed at only 33. Leaving behind the love of his life Vanessa and their young daughter Anaseini (3) and son Stanley (6 months).

Sam was a genuine friend to many and always showed love and kindness to everyone he met. He had a passion for cars, but his greatest love and purpose was being a devoted partner and father to his children.

Sam worked so hard to create such a beautiful life for his family, he was their rock and provider. He worked as a tow truck driver and was known to his work family as “nightbase”. The calls, conversations and laughs that can no longer be had will leave a great void in the workplace.

On a typical day after finishing work Sam went to sleep. As Vanessa woke to feed their newborn, she noticed something was wrong, his chest had no movement as he was sleeping. Ana their daughter was calling out “dada wake up” and Vanessa desperately tried to resuscitate the love of her life until emergency services came, but tragically he never woke up.

It is heartbreaking Sam couldn’t be saved. There are no words to describe how such a long, beautiful and loving relationship they shared could have ended so abruptly. Sam and Vanessa were only a young couple that were still building and creating their family.

This go fund me is being organised to help support Vanessa and their children, while they grieve his sudden passing.

The funds raised will go towards helping their costs as they navigate this unexpected life ahead without him, this will include:

- Covering funeral and memorial costs

- Household expenses

- Costs related to the care for Sam & Vanessa’s children
