SAM-BAM WALK AGAIN A THON!

On Saturday, May 15th 2021, the day after my 53rd birthday I awoke at 10:30am to a bright beautiful day.

Receiving a “Happy Belated Birthday” wish from my goddaughter, Samantha-Lynn. We had a conversation for a while then she was off to go Mountain Biking. I let her know that I loved her very much & I would talk to her later.

Not knowing that at 1:42pm that afternoon that I would get a phone call from her older sister Julie-Anne (My Jewels) That would change our families lives forever, that her baby sister the woman that I raised, my Sam-Bam, had been in a very horrific Mountain Biking accident in Kitchener, Ontario, and is being rushed to the Hamilton General Hospital, fighting for her life and was on her way to undergo Polytrauma Surgery. She was in surgery for 9 hr's, that was all her body could handle without risking her life further. Thankfully she awoke from surgery and was completely cognitive, but was unable to move her entire left side from the neck down.

Samantha-Lynn survived this because of her strength, the strength that her 2 little children bring to her (daughter 4, son 2), and the fight and drive that lives inside of her. The 3 of them are fighters, they always have been and always will be.

The reality is that Samantha "most" likely will never walk again, or have complete use or control of her body. As it is right now, she is paralyzed on her left side from her neck down. She will have to wear a neck/back brace possibly the rest of her life, she is confined to a   wheelchair. for the rest of her life We have a very long uphill battle with a lot of hurdles to cross, including many years of physiotherapy, therapy, surgeries, and appointments ahead of us.

This is a costly battle, from simple things like travel, and living expenses, home renovations for her to be comfortable and independent in her own home, to the more complicated things such as specialized braces and medical equipment, to her mental health and well being. This is a battle that I know we can not do alone.

I know I need to “move mountains” to give her the best and Happiest life. I need this help from everyone I know, my friends, family, colleagues, and even just those willing to help and show their love for Samantha. Help us get Samantha home to her children and family, in a home she can independently live in.

I am asking you all, from the bottom of my heart, please help us! help Samantha & her children! Help us make sure she has the best chances to not only pull through this, but to hopefully one day be able to walk, and maybe even run and play with her children again, and of course to just keep a smile on her face and her spirits always lifted to keep her positive & going.

Please D.M on updates on Samantha’s recovery and progress. Also, if any of my contractor friends could reach out to me, there are a few things I'd like to figure out so please D.M me as well.

The money is being raised for a down payment on a home for her and her children,  a specialized van for her to be driven to her appointments. A specialized wheelchair, a specialized bed and mattress. Home renovations to customize the home for it is accessible for her to get around properly. And a {R.E.S.P} For her childrens education fund.

Love to you all, and all the hope in the world to Samantha-Lynn.
