Nanay Salve's Fight Against Cancer - Every Bit Helps

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Leo S. Enriquez, and I’m humbly reaching out on behalf of my mother, Salvacion S. Enriquez fondly known as Nanay Salve, who is currently fighting for her life in the ICU of La Consolacion University General Hospital. She has been diagnosed with Stage 3B squamous cell carcinoma (a type of lung cancer), and her first round of chemotherapy has been delayed due to a severe case of pneumonia. Every day is a struggle to breathe—and to survive.

A Sudden and Rapid Decline
It all began on May 24. My mom was at church when she suddenly complained of weakness and pain in her shoulders. She insisted on going home to rest, but later that day, she had trouble breathing. We rushed her to the hospital, where she was given pain relievers and underwent an X-ray. The results showed signs of bone degeneration, which we thought explained her pain. We were sent home, hopeful but unaware of what was truly happening inside her body.

For a while, she seemed better—but soon the pain returned, sleep became difficult, and her appetite began to fade. Concerned, she confided in a relative who urged her to see a specialist, Dr. Trinidad. A new set of X-rays revealed alarming masses in her lungs. A CT scan confirmed the presence of masses and nodules. Then came the biopsy—and the devastating diagnosis: lung cancer.

From Diagnosis to Emergency
We were still waiting for her treatment plan when things took a terrifying turn. She began vomiting after eating and again struggled to breathe. We rushed her to the hospital, but due to hospital affiliations, she had to be transferred. Upon arrival, she experienced supraventricular tachycardia (SVT)—a dangerous condition where the heart races up to 260 bpm, nearly causing a heart attack. She was admitted to the ICU, where she remains today. Although her heart has stabilized, the pneumonia continues to compromise her breathing and delays the start of her chemotherapy.

A Life of Service—Now She Needs Help
My mother, Nanay Salve, is not just a cancer patient. She is a pillar in our community—a brave, selfless woman who has dedicated her life to helping others. Even with aching knees, she would tirelessly accompany neighbors to government offices, advocating for financial assistance for their hospital bills. She would return home late, worn out but fulfilled—never asking for anything in return.

Now, she’s the one who needs help.

How You Can Help
The medical expenses are overwhelming. Her time in the ICU, multiple tests, life-saving interventions, and the upcoming chemotherapy sessions are more than our family can afford. We are doing everything we can, but we need your help to give her a fighting chance.

Your donation—no matter the amount—will go directly toward:

ICU and hospital bills
Medication and treatment
Chemotherapy and cancer care
Breathing support and post-ICU recovery

If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this campaign. Every share helps us reach more kind hearts like yours.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking the time to read our story, and for standing with us in this most difficult time.

With hope and gratitude,
Leo S. Enriquez
