Salvador Silva; loving husband, best dad ever.

We are in a daze and truthfully we still can't believe our dear daddy is no longer with us.

On Saturday, March 21st he suffered a cardiac arrest that lasted 20 minutes and he was resuscitated at the hospital, however, due to the lack of oxygen to his brain, he fell into a coma and suffered irreversible brain damage.  We had hoped for a recovery but the doctors confirmed that the damage was permanent and that he would not be able to come off of life support.   On Tuesday, March 24th, he passed peacefully alongside his family and loved ones.

Our dad Salvador Silva was the kind of guy that made you feel awkward about being too "lovey-dovey" but would bring you so much joy with his simple presence. If you have ever come across our dad you would know he was a kind man with a heart of gold. He cared dearly for those around him and devoted his entire life to his family.  He was born in El Salvador and at a young age, he had to live apart from his family due to the civil war. He completed his Bachelor's in Panama with a degree in Accounting and had big dreams to come to the states and be a "top-notch" accountant. As you can imagine, our father faced the harsh reality of the American dream. As if crossing the border isn't traumatic enough, he faced discrimination and financial hardships chasing the dream. It was until he met our mother he realized he had a reason worth staying in California and he always said she gave him the strength that kept him going. Our parents complemented each other in every way and a love like theirs is one to admire.

He was an incredibly honest hardworking man that's extremely loved and respected by his peers. He impacted the lives of many with his charisma and his sense of humor. He always knew how to humorously turn a bad situation around and managed to put smiles on everyone in the room. Sometimes (most of the time) his jokes had a double meaning, but that simply was who our father was, a jokester.

Thank you, Dad, for constantly motivating us with your wit, wisdom, and hard work. Teaching us to work for what we want, because nothing in this life is given. It's earned.

This tragedy caught us completely by surprise and has changed our lives completely. We would kindly like to ask for donations that can help give our father the appropriate farewell that he deserves. Our mother Rosalia Escareno will be managing and accepting donations

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
