Dads ringtone was Faithfully by Journey. We agreed that this title would be perfect as that is a song we will on our minds reminding us of him. Love you Pa.
Our beloved father Salvador “Buddy” Lataquin as most of you know was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer back in June of 2017. He completed surgery to remove the cancer in his lung but Unfortunately over time his cancer metastasized into his liver and brain. Chemo and radiation were successful with keeping most of the cancer at bay for quite some time, but it eventually stopped doing its job and failed to work. We just recently stopped the chemotherapy and did a recent radiation therapy on his brain this past Tuesday.
This past weekend before last, we took dad on a fishing trip to his favorite spot in Bremerton and he had such a great day, as we did with him.
Yesterday, Landing on Mom and Dads 40th anniversary, Dad woke up and was feeling as if he couldn’t catch his breath and was having a little trouble. He was taken to Evergreen Hospital, and on the way was unresponsive. The Medics were contacted as the car was pulled over and they arrived immediately to perform CPR. They were able to revive him and get pulse back and upon arrival to the hospital he was breathing on his own but heart rate was not stable. Surrounded by Family, he passed around 12:30pm.
At this time we would like to thank all family and friends for their love and support. Out pouring love. We know Dad is at peace knowing we have all of you to lean on during this time.
