Indiana MVPA Salute to the Troops 2022 Rally

For over 30 years in Indiana there has been a Salute to the Troops Rally. In 2014 the Rally was taken over by the Indiana Military Vehicle Preservation Association after the closing of the two military museums who were the organizers of the Rally.
The IMVPA has tried to pay for the Rally through area donations, money collected at the entrance, and their own money. The 2021 Rally cost almost $14,000. They were able to raise $11,500. This year we may be forced to cut back the events of the show due to increase in fuel, insurance, lodging, and event rentals.
The 2022 Rally will once again be held at the Jay County Fair Grounds (806 East Votaw Street, Portland Indiana). Setup date is Thursday 15 September 2022. Show and swap meet dates are Friday and Saturday 16-17 September, 2022 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.. For information and vendor sites contact Mike Lusty (765-618-7219 or [email redacted].com).
The exhibits and displays we have had in the past are M5A1 Stuart tank from Shepherdsville, Kentucky, Walker Bulldog tank from Winamac Indiana, UH1 Huey Helicopter out of Columbus Indiana, Halftrack with Quad 50 mounts, WWll Living History Displays, Korean War living History Displays, Cold War Living History Displays, Vietnam War Living History Displays, and over 50 military vehicles on display with 60 military equipment vendors.
The Rally is a great educational experience for the community as well as those who travel to the Rally location. It shows how the Armed Services have protected our Nation and many others throughout the world. You can learn more by visiting our Facebook link IndianaMVPA
