Our parents, Art and Loreta Garcia, were in a car crash in Arizona on the morning of December 2, 2018. They had been visiting family for Thanksgiving. Both were taken to the local hospital. They released our dad after checking him out, he was bruised and shook up but otherwise OK. Unfortunately, my mom was severely injured. She was sent to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Banner Dessert Medical Center in Mesa, AZ. Thankfully, her condition has slowly been improving. It’s been hard seeing her in so much pain, but we are so grateful and thankful that both of our parents are still with us- and feeling slightly better every day. On behalf of our parents and all the siblings, thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your support and encouragement! Thank you to those that have been able to come and visit. If anyone wants to offer further support we are exploring ways to help pay for 1) continued health costs including co-pays and out of pocket expenses and 2) transportation costs back home and to and from doctor visits. Our goal is our current best guesstimate of what the difference will be between what the insurance will cover and what will be out of pocket for my folks. Any amount small or large will help.
